From water recreation at Moss Lake and the Broad River Greenway to hiking at the Kings Mountain National Military Park, there are a variety of outdoor activities available for your enjoyment. The County also has the state's largest county fair in Shelby. History abounds in Cleveland County, from the Central Shelby Historic District with the Arts Center, Historical Museum, the Farmer's Market and many others to the Central School Historic District in Kings Mountain, with the oldest unchanged house in the area to a private narrow gauge railroad in Lawndale.
