Duplin County is important in raising animals for food. It has more hogs than any other county in the United States - 2.2 million in 2015, which is greater than the hog population of most states. The county is also the home to a major chicken and turkey industry.
Whether you like big adventure, or just beautiful sightseeing, boating, golfing, biking, beach combing, or just visiting lighthouses, antique shops, playhouses, museums and galleries, North Carolina is rich with attractions and amusements. One of the most exhilarating beach vaction spots on the East Coast is NC'S Outer Banks. Vacation rentals from Corolla down past Kitty Hawk and Nags Head and all the way to the former pirate stronghold of Ocracoke Island. You have to do this at least once in your lifetime. If mountains are more your style then the North Carolina Smoky Mountains offer a value family vacation with hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and scenic drives through the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forest. The Blue Ridge Parkway offers many outstanding mountain views and scenic overlooks. You can't go wrong on this one!
