Oxford's oldest jailhouse was built in 1795 and has been converted by three local womens' clubs into a museum dedicated to the collection and display of artifacts portraying Granville County's primatic history. While the iron cells are gone, the flavor of the earlier edifice is present, augmented by new exhibits that include such interesting sidebars as the Oxford-China Connection.
