Many of the County Links
on the left will keep you specifically in or near Haywood County and Maggie Valley in the Great Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina.
Welcome to the magic that is Haywood County! The source of that magic can be as illusive as the mountain fog drifting through the peaks and valleys, settling first in that cove then on that ridge before hovering over a body of water. With the Blue Ridge Parkway bordering the south and the Great Smokies and Pisgah National Forest in the north end of the county and 18 peaks over 6000 feet in elevation, including Cold Mountain, the scenery inspires awe and national best sellers.
There is a "get away from it all" small town atmosphere and mountain values, yet metropolitan advantages are just minutes away. With I-40 running through the middle of the county, two thirds of the US population centers are with a day’s drive.
In the Maggie Valley whitewater rafting to horseback rides, antique motorcycles to snowboarding jumps, Maggie will keep you moving.
The central location in the heart of the Smokies makes all the activities in the mountains within your reach. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway are both at your doorstep. Thousands of miles of high country trails and adventure await. The surrounding National Forests also offer many choices for exploring the wonderful setting that makes up the Smokies. Waterfalls and vistas abound.
